Slavko in our hearts
Our Slavko Avsenik is a person, who shouldn't have left. And he never will. We enter the world of tomorrow, without him and with an enormous sadness. We have the awareness that we were privileged and lived in that same time that he did and it makes our proud even more powerful, that we will carry in our hearts, what he created from his heart.
We thank the Slovenian national televison for recording the last farewell. On this link, you can see the entire funeral.>>>

Highlights from the 9th meeting of harmonica players at Avsenik

Most of the harmonica players who came tend to carry their instruments in their pockets at all times. All they need to do is pull them out and they're ready for a concert. The event was organised by the Avsenik-Hohner Gallery, which has a new home in the building opposite the Avsenik Restaurant. For the 9th consecutive year, they have succeeded in organising an unforgettable day made special by harmonicas – instruments that may be ancient but still offer plenty of fun.  In the morning we attended an one-hour seminar on repairing and tuning harmonicas, while the afternoon was set aside for a concert with a rich and varied line-up.

Outstanding innovation
The beginnings of RUTAR accordions date back to 1984. Even three decades ago, they were distinguished by a unique appearance and unmatched sound, with top-quality handmade reeds and a body made from particularly resonant spruce wood. From their earliest beginnings, RUTAR accordions were the first in Slovenia to transition from wooden to metal treble switches and to introduce new bass switches, leading to much improved, softer accordions, with a better sound that were easier to play.
